Flipped Classroom -PSA Oct. 12

Good Evening Students,

Tonight we will be doing something different. Tonight you will be learning on your own and tomorrow in the class we will have several activities to do with what you are about to learn.

We are moving on to a new chapter having to do with Number Lines. Please click on the link and follow all directions. This is going to be new to everyone so please take your time and make sure you completely understand what is happening. I can also ask any questions that you post in the comments. Look through the powerpoint, watch the video, and do the assignment that goes along with it.

I will see you all in class tomorrow so be ready!

-Ms. Lancin

Next morning:
I will be evaluating what they know by using an activity called "Example, Non- Example" that was found on k20center.ou.edu
I will have them take out a piece of notebook paper and ask them to give me an example of a certain number on a number line and then ask them to give me a non- example of a different number. I would so this about 3-4 times before having them turn in the paper. That is when I would take the time and have the students ask any questions they may have.

At the end of the week I would provide a short quiz. This quiz would consist of placing numbers on a number line and identifying numbers on a number line.

  1. I really like how the lesson was easy to follow. I also like how you knew exactly what the quiz was going to be about and planned ahead.

  2. Shelby this was like I was actually a student in your classroom. The letter that you wrote at the beginning was so professional and detailed. Your Powtown was so cute and I was so hooked on watching it, I know in the future the kids are going to love you as a teacher, your so creative and fun!
